Upgrade of existing Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System for Bedok and Kranji Newater Factories
26 February 2015
Singapore, February 2015
The first Newater plants were opened in Bedok and Kranji in 2003 by Public Utilities Board (PUB). Newater is high-grade reclaimed water. It is produced from treated used water that is further purified using advanced membrane technologies and ultra-violet disinfection, making it ultra-clean and safe to drink.
DNR had tendered for the SCADA upgrade for both the factories, and has recently been awarded the contract for both by PUB. With complex Ignition SCADA implementation and enhanced User Interface this SCADA will set a new frontier for SCADA expectations for coming PUB projects. DNR shall be directly involved with PUB for complete Front End Design Engineering, Detailed Engineering, Supply, Testing and Commissioning of control system, Plant Historian, Computerized Maintenance Management System, Online Operations and Maintenance Manuals systems.
